Comparison Chart

As you may know, to be eligible for Japanese university admission, students must have completed 12 years of schooling in their home country. If a country’s secondary education is shorter than 12 years, students must complete a preparatory course designated by Japan's Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Therefore, graduates from non-designated Japanese language schools cannot directly qualify for university admission.

To gain university admission, students must attend one of the preparatory institutions designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. A list of these schools is available on the Ministry’s website. There are over 30 schools worldwide, with PBT being the only one overseas. All PBT teachers are Japanese, and we are confident that our program is more comprehensive than those in Japan.
